Contact name, phone number, email etc must be legible in order for the employer to contact you. They usually do not research and depending on the line of work they may just skip to the next candidate.

1. Opening

Who are you, What is this letter about?

Open with a greeting You might put the company name if you don't have a specific name to address it to. Right away, say what you this letter is about.

2. Body

Highlight why you are a good candidate.

Short, and to the point. Remember the resume already has details. In this letter you just want to pull out the reasons/qualifications to justify your candidacy. Be specific but brief.

3. Closing, Action

Action, What do you want next?

Ideally this is the 3rd paragraph. Thank them for the possibility and state/ask what you want next, an interview? Important, always indicate how you can be reached and provide your contact information.
